Solving Toothpaste Production Challenges In Nigeria - A Vacuum Emulsifying Mixer Project
Why Does Toothpaste Mixing Fail Before Filling?
For this Nigerian toothpaste manufacturer, the challenge was not just finding a mixer. It was how to make every batch of toothpaste stable, smooth, and ready for tube filling under real factory conditions.
Toothpaste looks simple from the outside, but production is much more sensitive than ordinary mixing. Powders need to disperse evenly, binders must hydrate properly, air bubbles must be removed, and the paste viscosity has to stay consistent from batch to batch. If the process is not controlled, small problems can quickly turn into rough texture, trapped air, unstable viscosity, longer mixing time, or filling problems.
In Nigeria’s production environment, the customer also needed to consider practical factory conditions, including high ambient temperature, power preparation, treated water quality, material feeding, installation space, and future daily operation.
The customer needed to solve several key production concerns:
Air bubbles trapped inside the toothpaste paste
Uneven powder and liquid dispersion
Unstable viscosity between batches
Longer mixing time for high-viscosity paste
Paste not smooth enough before tube filling
Uncertainty about machine layout and installation
Need for easier cleaning, inspection, and operation
For this project, the real question was not simply:
“How can we mix toothpaste?”
It was:
“How can we make toothpaste paste smooth, stable, low in air bubbles, and easier to fill in our own factory?”
To help the customer reduce this uncertainty, HONEMIX supplied the HVE-BLT Vacuum Emulsifying Mixer With Hydraulic Lift and supported the project from early technical communication to layout review, manufacturing, installation guidance, and commissioning support. The goal was to help the customer build a more controlled toothpaste mixing process, not just receive one machine.
Project Summary: HVE-BLT Vacuum Emulsifying Mixer For A Toothpaste Production Project In Nigeria
The HVE-BLT Vacuum Emulsifying Mixer helped a Nigeria toothpaste manufacturer improve high-viscosity toothpaste production by combining vacuum deaeration, high-shear homogenizing, scraper agitation, and jacket heating/cooling in one system. The project addressed common toothpaste production challenges in Nigeria, including hot factory conditions, power preparation, treated water planning, raw material dispersion, and paste stability before tube filling.

| Challenge | Production Risk | Project Solution |
| High Temperature | Paste stability and process control may be affected. | Jacket heating and cooling helped improve temperature control during mixing and cooling. |
| Power Preparation | Wrong voltage or poor preparation may delay installation. | HONEMIX reviewed electrical requirements before manufacturing. |
| Water Quality | Water quality may affect consistency and hygiene control. | The project reviewed how treated water connects with the mixing process. |
| Raw Material Variation | Powders and binders may disperse unevenly. | High-shear homogenizing and scraper agitation supported better dispersion. |
| Packaging Requirement | Air bubbles or unstable viscosity may affect tube filling. | Vacuum mixing helped reduce trapped air before filling. |
Project Equipment: Why The HVE-BLT Mixer Was Selected
HVE-BLT Vacuum Emulsifying Mixer with Hydraulic Lift
The customer selected the HVE-BLT Vacuum Emulsifying Mixer With Hydraulic Lift because toothpaste production requires controlled high-viscosity mixing.
The vacuum system helps reduce trapped air inside the paste. This supports a smoother product structure and makes the paste more suitable for filling.
The high-shear homogenizer helps disperse powders and liquid ingredients more evenly. This is important for toothpaste formulas that include abrasives, binders, humectants, flavors, and other functional materials.
The scraper agitation system helps move thick paste along the tank wall, reducing uneven mixing areas and improving overall batch consistency.
The jacketed tank supports heating and cooling during material preparation, mixing, and cooling steps. This gives the customer better control over the process instead of relying only on room temperature conditions.
The hydraulic lifting structure makes inspection, cleaning, and maintenance easier for daily production.
Project Planning: Before Manufacturing
Before manufacturing, HONEMIX communicated with the customer about the toothpaste formula process, expected batch capacity, viscosity, factory layout, local power supply, water preparation, material feeding method, and future production plan.
Design drawing communication was also provided before production. This helped the customer confirm machine layout, operator access, utility preparation, lifting space, discharge direction, and maintenance area.
For overseas projects, this step is very important. A clear layout and technical confirmation before shipment can reduce installation problems and avoid unnecessary changes after the equipment arrives.

Before manufacturing, HONEMIX provided layout drawings to help the customer confirm the equipment dimensions, installation space, platform position, electrical cabinet location, auxiliary tank arrangement, and maintenance access. This made the project easier to review before production and helped reduce installation changes after delivery.

After confirming the basic layout drawings, HONEMIX used 3D equipment and connection views to help the customer better understand the real machine structure, auxiliary tank arrangement, control cabinet position, operating platform, key functional parts, and utility connection points before manufacturing. This made the toothpaste production project easier to review visually before final confirmation.
Project Quality: Manufacturing And Inspection
After the project details were confirmed, the machine was manufactured according to the agreed configuration.
During manufacturing, HONEMIX checked the machine structure, stainless steel contact parts, vacuum system, mixing system, homogenizing system, hydraulic lifting system, electrical control, and basic functional performance before delivery.
The goal was to make sure the equipment matched the confirmed toothpaste production requirements before shipment.
The customer inspected the mixer cover, scraper system, and internal mixing structure to confirm whether the equipment matched the toothpaste production process.
Project Support: Installation And Commissioning
After the machine arrived, HONEMIX provided installation and commissioning guidance based on the confirmed project plan.
The support focused on practical operation, including machine placement, power connection, vacuum function, mixing direction, homogenizing operation, heating and cooling connection, hydraulic lifting movement, and control panel use.
During the first trial, HONEMIX also helped the customer review the operation process step by step. This helped the operators become familiar with vacuum mixing, speed adjustment, temperature control, and paste discharge before regular production.
Project Feedback: Customer Experience After Use
After installation and initial production testing, the customer felt more confident about their toothpaste manufacturing process. The early drawing communication helped them understand the equipment layout before delivery, while the commissioning guidance made the first operation easier for their team. They especially valued the vacuum mixing performance, which helped create a more uniform paste and gave them better control during trial production. For the customer, this project was not only about receiving a mixer, but about building a more practical and stable production process with technical support they could rely on.

Project Insight: What Other Toothpaste Manufacturers Can Learn
For toothpaste manufacturers in Nigeria or similar markets, equipment selection should start from the real production environment.
Before purchasing a toothpaste mixer, manufacturers should review product viscosity, formula process, powder dispersion requirements, vacuum needs, heating and cooling steps, water quality, power supply, installation space, cleaning method, and future filling process.
A suitable vacuum emulsifying mixer should not only mix materials. It should help the factory control air bubbles, viscosity, dispersion, temperature, cleaning, and daily operation in a practical way.
Early project planning can save time during installation and reduce unnecessary changes after delivery.
Project Applications: Similar High-Viscosity Paste Products
The HVE-BLT Vacuum Emulsifying Mixer can be used for toothpaste and other medium- to high-viscosity products, including:
Toothpaste · Gel Toothpaste · Cosmetic Cream · Face Cream · Body Cream · Ointment · Gel · Lotion · Balm · Detergent Paste · Daily Chemical Paste
This type of machine is especially suitable for manufacturers who need better control over air bubbles, texture, viscosity, dispersion, and batch consistency.
