Custom RO water purification systems for cosmetics, personal care and industrial process water.
The HONEMIX HRO Industrial Reverse Osmosis System is designed to remove dissolved salts, suspended impurities and other contaminants from process water through pretreatment and reverse osmosis membrane separation.
Depending on the required water quality, the system can be configured as single-pass RO, double-pass RO or RO + EDI, with customized treatment capacity, tanks, piping, controls and post-treatment equipment.

HRO
HONEMIX
There is no single reverse osmosis configuration suitable for every factory.
The HRO series is engineered according to your feed water quality, required product-water conductivity, production capacity and downstream process.
For standard process-water applications, a single-pass RO water treatment system may be sufficient. Projects requiring lower conductivity can use double-pass RO, while higher-purity applications can add EDI after the RO stages.
This modular approach allows the water treatment system to match the actual production requirement instead of adding unnecessary treatment stages.
Typical Pure Water Treatment Process Flow Diagram
Configuration | Treatment Level | Typical Use |
|---|---|---|
Single-Pass RO | Pretreatment + one RO membrane stage | General purified process water |
Double-Pass RO | Pretreatment + first-pass RO + second-pass RO | Lower-conductivity process water |
RO + EDI | Double-pass RO + electrodeionization | Higher-purity water requirements |
Customized System | RO combined with softening, UV, ozone, storage or other modules | Project-specific water treatment |
The final configuration is selected according to the incoming water analysis and required product-water specification.
A complete industrial reverse osmosis water treatment system can be configured with:
Raw Water Tank → Raw Water Pump → Multimedia / Quartz Sand Filter → Activated Carbon Filter → Water Softener if Required → Security Filter → Reverse Osmosis → RO Water Tank → Second-Pass RO if Required → EDI if Required → Pure Water Tank → UV Sterilization / Ozone → Point of Use
Pretreatment protects the RO membranes and improves system stability.
Depending on the feed water, the system may include:
Multimedia or quartz sand filtration
Activated carbon filtration
Water softening
Precision / security filtration
Chemical dosing when required
Activated carbon treatment is especially important when chlorine must be removed before the RO membrane.
Second-Pass Reverse Osmosis System Pretreatment Unit
The RO membrane is the main separation stage of the system.
Under pressure, water passes through the reverse osmosis membrane while most dissolved salts and other impurities are retained and discharged with the concentrate stream.
The supplied HRO system can be configured with one or two RO stages depending on the target water quality.
Second-Pass Reverse Osmosis RO Membrane Unit
For projects requiring higher-purity process water, electrodeionization (EDI) can be installed after the RO system.
EDI combines ion-exchange media with an electrical field to continuously remove remaining ionic contaminants. Unlike conventional ion-exchange regeneration, EDI can operate without routine acid and alkali regeneration.
This makes RO + EDI water treatment systems suitable for production lines where stable low-conductivity water is required.
EDI Electrodeionization Principle
The HRO series is not limited to one fixed production capacity.
Common project requirements can include:
250 L/H · 500 L/H · 1,000 L/H · 2,000 L/H · 3,000 L/H · 5,000 L/H · 10,000 L/H · 20,000 L/H and larger customized systems
Other capacities can be engineered according to required hourly or daily water consumption.
Choose from:
Single-pass RO
Double-pass RO
RO + EDI
RO + UV
RO + ozone
Customized combined treatment
The required system should be selected according to the final process rather than capacity alone.
Automatic configurations can use tank level signals to control pumps and system operation.
PLC and touch-screen control can also be configured according to project requirements.
Pretreatment, RO membranes, storage tanks, EDI, UV and other treatment modules can be configured according to the installation space and water quality requirement.
Tank and piping configurations can be selected according to the application, including stainless steel and suitable industrial piping options.
Purified water can be transferred directly to:
Vacuum emulsifying mixers
Cream and lotion production tanks
Shampoo and liquid soap mixing tanks
Perfume preparation systems
Storage tanks
Other process equipment

Important: Final water quality, recovery rate and operating parameters depend on feed-water quality, membrane selection and system configuration.
Water is one of the major raw materials used in many cosmetic and personal care formulations.
An appropriately configured RO water treatment system can provide purified process water for products such as:
Creams
Lotions
Serums
Shampoos
Conditioners
Shower gels
Liquid soaps
Facial cleansers
Personal care liquids
Perfume and fragrance processing
Other water-based cosmetic formulations
The HRO system can be installed as an independent industrial water purification system or integrated with a complete cosmetic manufacturing line.
A single-pass reverse osmosis system is normally considered when the required product-water quality can be achieved after one RO membrane stage.
A double-pass reverse osmosis system processes the first-pass RO water through a second RO stage to further reduce dissolved ionic content.
The correct choice depends on:
Feed-water conductivity
Feed-water hardness and contaminants
Required product-water conductivity
Downstream manufacturing process
EDI is usually considered when the required water purity is higher than the target achievable with the selected RO configuration alone.
The typical sequence is:
Pretreatment → RO → Second-Pass RO → EDI → Pure Water Storage
For cosmetic and industrial applications that do not require this level of purification, EDI may not be necessary.
HONEMIX can configure the system according to the actual water-quality target rather than automatically adding EDI to every project.
To recommend the correct reverse osmosis water treatment equipment, please provide:
Feed water source
Municipal water, groundwater or another source.
Feed water analysis
TDS, conductivity, hardness, chlorine and other available water-quality data.
Required capacity
For example, L/H, m³/H or total daily consumption.
Required purified-water quality
Conductivity, TDS, resistivity or other process requirement.
Application
Cream, lotion, shampoo, perfume or other industrial process.
Destination electrical standard
Voltage, frequency and phase.
With this information, the pretreatment, RO stages and optional EDI configuration can be selected more accurately.
Buying a larger RO system does not necessarily produce better water.
The correct system should balance:
Feed Water Quality + Required Water Purity + Required Capacity + Recovery + Downstream Process
For example, a factory with relatively clean municipal feed water and moderate conductivity requirements may only need pretreatment and single-pass RO.
Another project with higher feed-water conductivity or lower product-water conductivity requirements may require:
Pretreatment → Double-Pass RO → EDI
A project-specific configuration helps avoid both insufficient treatment and unnecessary equipment investment.
HRO systems can be customized according to the required hourly or daily water demand. Common capacities range from smaller industrial systems to high-flow customized installations. Tell us the required L/H or m³/H and we can configure the system accordingly.
Yes. The system can be configured as either single-pass or double-pass RO depending on feed-water quality and the required purified-water specification.
Yes. EDI is available as an optional polishing stage for projects requiring higher-purity water after RO treatment.
Not every project requires the same pretreatment. A softener may be recommended when feed-water hardness creates scaling risk. The pretreatment configuration should be based on water analysis.
Yes. The HRO industrial RO water purification system can be configured for purified process water used in cream, lotion, serum, shampoo, liquid soap, perfume and other cosmetic or personal care manufacturing processes.
